Shepards in the clouds
I have spent amazing time with the shepards who shared all they had with us, food, water and loads of Cha-Cha (strong spirit from grapes). Their life lacks of all complexities of the conterporary societies, is driven by the cycles of nature. They work hard throughout the whole season, just to become prisoners of heavy snowfalls that seal the only path leading to the semi-civilizied world at the lower parts of the Caucasus. -Arek

Costa Rica 2010
Pacific Coast:
Costa Rica is a beautiful country, specifically on it's country side, the cities (like the capital of San Jose) are rather dull and uninteresting. I learnt that the most popular places, everyone recommends, one should avoid due to those placed being packed with people, usually holiday tourists, mostly from the US and Canada, interested in beach leisure, mojito/beer, canopy rides and shopping for cheap, "original" made in china souvenirs. Not that I don't like mojito and beer, however I am looking for something stimulating, Jaco, the holiday escape for locals and tourists is not one of those places. Therefore unless you do not mind, visit Jaco, and at least what you can get is a good surf, providing if this is any interest for you. On the way from Jaco after 3 days of surfing the waves and trekking the surrounding mountains with a dense rain forest, drinking loads of beer, I was fed up with the place and decided to leave, on the way back to San Jose, the accident completely jammed the road for 2 hours, decided to take few snaps, as the light was magical.
What I missed so much in the Costa Rica, some sense of distinct culture (Costa Rica is very much americanized) and originality, I found just a few days before I left the country, it is a small village on the eastern coast of the CR. Cahuita is famous of it's National Park, it's biggest attraction and at the same time the reason for lack of mass tourism in the region. The place seemed for me a calypso & reggae island in the country of Costa Rica which does not amaze of anything except for it's incredibly beautiful rain forest, wildlife and volcanic mountains.
